minus-squareSuiXi3Dlinkfedilink19•8 days agoNone, they’re hardware region locked because they didn’t want scalpers buying up the cheaper Japanese units and selling them elsewhere. I believe manufacturing is split between regions as well, though I’m not sure to what degree.

None, they’re hardware region locked because they didn’t want scalpers buying up the cheaper Japanese units and selling them elsewhere. I believe manufacturing is split between regions as well, though I’m not sure to what degree.
Region locking can be dodged of you plan to buy region locked games, use a VPN.
JP Switches will only play Japanese-language games. So for non-Japanese-speaking consumers, that will be a problem.
Also all the menus will be in japanese too.
